Good Vibrations: Winchester Excited About Securing Classic Band's Visit

WINCHESTER - This year's "Endless Summer" will last at least that many UNTIL Oct. 5. 

The Winchester Education Foundation announced Thursday That the Beach Boys will play the Patsy Cline Theatre at John Handley High School in less than two months. 

The announcement was made at the theater by its former state. H. Russell "Russ" Potts Jr., executive director of the foundation, along with Winchester Public Schools Officials and promoters of the event. 

"It's just going to be a fantastic evening," Potts said. 

Tickets go on sale Aug. 30 exclusively through Ticketmaster and will cost Between $ 25 and $ 100 

The Beach Boys, billed as the next act in the "Patsy Cline classic" concert series, follow a Sold-out 2009 Willie Nelson & Family That show dedicated the renovated theater and Raised More Than $ 10,000 for the foundation. 

Before the announcement Thursday, Organizers narrowed the guesswork by piping the band's surf-rock classics over the speakers and decorating the room in a beach theme. 

The Beach Boys, whose multiple hits are etched into popular culture, are touring with Founding member and Vocalist Mike Love and Bruce Johnston veteran band. The band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is Jan. 20, 1988, the cloudy night as Bob Dylan and The Beatles. Their latest album, "Sounds of Summer," was released in 2006. 

Local Event Promoter Christian Schweiger, Ken helped Organize the Willie Nelson show with partner Cody Dearing, Said They were tipped Thurs considering the Beach Boys last year by a crew member Ken has Worked with Both artists. But Schweiger credited local and hmmmm Officials close to the band for Helping to Make the show a reality. 

"Bringing in the National talent is very Competitive," Schweiger said. "You Have to Establish a great relationship. ... It really got a big group of people to get this together." 

Schweiger Said he did Not expect an opening act at the show. A reception before hand is Planned, along with a Meet-and-greet with band members and a tribute to Patsy Cline. 

An added bonus to the event and manually be an appearance by actor John Stamos, Musician, Ken has Performed with the Beach Boys this year, Dearing said. Event promoters will not know of His Involvement UNTIL Closer to show time. 

Charlie Dick, Cline's widower Ken attended Handley, attended last year's Willie Nelson concert and is Expected Thurs attendee this year. He has been expressed at his support of the concert series as a tribute to the celebrated singer, Ken was born in Winchester on Sept. 8, 1932, and Performed on the theater's stage "when she was 15 

Thursday They Said Organizers Hope to bring a big act to the theater EACH year Thurs benefit concerning the foundation, wakes raises money for the school system. 

"To not have Willie Nelson and the Beach Boys in the past two years, I think it's indicative of how far the Winchester Education Foundation has come," said Dennis Bromley, the foundation's president. "It's a major accomplishment here To Have Them." 

The Patsy Cline Theatre has a seating capacity of 1.327. 

"I expect the tickets to go very Quickly," said Winchester Public Schools Superintendent Ricky Leonard, "and if that's the only Complaints but we have about the show, then well done."
