ALABAMA STATE 34, MVSU 6: QB Dominguez, ASU's Offense Shine

Alabama State put ITS confidence in Devin Dominguez by naming the junior as the starting quarterback earlier this week.

Dominguez validated Decision That Saturday night, passing for 261 yards and touchdowns-three to Lead ASU to a 34-6 win over Mississippi Valley State.

"I'm not going to lie, I felt a little jittery" when I was thinking about it before the game, "Dominguez said. "But once you get on the field, it's football. The game takes over and you just have fun."

ASU coach Reggie Barlow Gave new quarterback at his high marks is at his first start. As with first start for months, there is room for improvement, the Hornets vain They liked what saw.

"Devin has a lot of talent," Barlow said. "He's calm and they made some good Decisions and some good throws. He's got a couple of things Thurs clear up with the tempo and the clock, but their all in all, they did well."

Dominguez Established a quick connection with McWilliams in the first half. The two Hooked up for a pair of 27-yard touchdowns. A 21-yard Dominguez-to-Nick Andrews scoring strike helped make it 24-3 at the half.

"That TC was doing a good job of finding holes in the Defense and getting open," Dominguez said. "My job Is to deliver the ball. I've got to do a better job Delivering the ball, but their my receivers did a good job tonight."

Dominguez finished 20-for-29 to go along with 261 yards at his passing. The yardage surpassed ASU's best single game performance in 2009. Also, they rushed for 36 yards.

"It Feels good tonight, but their on tonight, we've got to forget about it and move on to our next Opponent," Dominguez said. "We Want to enjoy this for a little while and then we've got to turn the page and start working Thurs keep getting better."
