Devils Lake Swallows Whole Towns in North Dakota

Devils Lake in North Dakota has Been Growing for twenty years, and it doesn't show Any signs of slowing down. The lake has engulfed Thousands of acres of land, Farms, buildings, and evangelical Entire towns.

The Associated Press reports the lake That Keeps Growing Because it doesn't have an outlet. When rain falls, it just gets trapped in the lake, the lake and Keeps Getting Bigger. The lake is now 6 feet from overflowing, Which is Causing Many People to Worry That a few more Town Could Be Washed Away.

The coming winter brings an evangelical bigger problem, as the snow melted at the end of the season will add inches Thurs Devils Lake. Devils Lake in North Dakota started rising in the 1990's, and Scientists do not see the trend stopping for at Least Another Ten Years. So far, Devils Lake has swallowed at Least Two towns in North Dakota

"It's moving slow torture," said one resident near Devils Lake.

Devils Lake is Currently at 1.451 feet Above sea level. If it climbs Above 1.458 feet, the water will spill into the Cheyenne River. The Mayor of Cheyenne, says a spillover That Could cause the river to Raise 5 feet, Which Would cause the Entire Town Evacuate Thurs.

More Than a Billion Dollars Will Have Been spent by the federal government at the end of 2010 to stop the Devils Lake flooding from the nearby towns. But No Matter How Many pumps, damns, dikes, the government Builds, The Waters at Devils Lake continue Thurs rise.
