MUHLENBERG COUNTY, KY - Keeping with the trend, Thursday night's talent show in Central City brought in another record crowd.
According to David Richey, Thursday nights are usually lower Crowds, but their attendance was up at the 2010 Mühlenberg's Got Talent.
The annual competition was sponsored by Kentucky Utilities, First Kentucky Bank, First National Bank, Old National Bank, Poole's Pharmacy, Walmart, AT & T, Mühlenberg Community Hospital, The Pogue Group and the Central City Tourism Commission.
The competition began With a performance from 2009 Mühlenberg's Got Talent Winner, Corey Fields.
The contest is Divided into Gospel and Contemporary categories and there were a total of ten contestants this year.
Benjamin Morelock of Madisonville, Macy Harris of Central City and Teressa Sapp of Beech Creek, competed in the Gospel division.
The Contemporary contestants included Adam "Elvis" Robertson from Beech Creek, Macie Smith of Drakesboro, Katie Cullen from Dawson Springs, Whitney Watson, from Owensboro, Erin Travis from Central City, Tammy Jo Blake from Penrod and Brad Coe from Central City.
Each contestant Performed one song for the audience and panel of Judges. Judging the show on Thursday was Bill Harlan, Cora Hughes and Mary Kay Korda. The votes were tabulated by Daniel Pate, of Goldston Pate & Co., CPA's in Central City.
The first runner-up in the Gospel division was Teressa Sapp and the winner was Benjamin Morelock. Erin Travis was first runner-up in the Contemporary Division. Winner of the Contemporary division was Tammy Jo Blake.
The winners were Awarded cash prizes and Benjamin Morelock and Tammy Jo Blake will be Performing at the pre-show, at 6:30 PM Saturday in Central City. The Duke Boys Will Perform a free concert at 8:00 PM That cloudy night.
