44 eye a 29th run of Twin Cities Marathon

Tens of Thousands of runners have completed the Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon. Only 44 have run Them All.

Almost all of Those 44 will be back at the starting line today, joining more than just runners and 11.000 Wheelers in the 29th version of the 26.2-mile race That starts at the Metrodome and ends at the Capitol.

Thurs Keep Their String of Consecutive Marathon Finishes alive, the 44 Competitors known as the Charter Club have raced despite injuries and illnesses. They've Deferred Operations, Risen Lazarus-like out of hospital beds, flown across the country and skipped family weddings, all to get to the starting line every October.

When running Their legs have Given out, somethings Charter Club members a switched Thurs doing the race in wheelchairs.

The current Charter Club Members have notched a Combined 32,278.4 miles over the course of 28 Twin Cities Marathons, or about 7.000 miles farther Than the circumference of the Earth around the equator.

John Näslund is the only runner Thurs complete Not only every Twin Cities Marathon But Also all of the 34 Grandma's Marathons in Duluth.

Another, Dean Laiti, has run all of the Twin Cities Marathons barefoot.

Edward Rousseau has done all of the Twin Cities Marathons as well as all 21 of the FANS 24-hour running races Held every June in Minneapolis.

John Thatcher will be flying in from Cape Elizabeth, Maine, Thu keep his Unbroken string of Twin Cities Marathon completions alive.
