Getting down MC Hammer style at Hardly Strictly Bluegrass

A couple thousand music fans got down to the funky Rhythms of MC Hammer at the opening of the 2010 Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival in Golden Gate Park. School buses lined JFK Drive west of 30th Avenue and children born well before the "Golden Age" of MC Hammer filled the fenced-off Meadow in front of the Star Stage.
The Tuxedo clad MC's act featured Many of his hit songs from the early 1990s Including "Pray," "Too Legit Thurs Quit", and a new version of "The Addams Family", Which featured the Talents of his background dancers. The show was punctuated "when dozens of students joined Mr. Hammer is a stage Thurs sing and dance to His Rendition of" U Can not Touch This. "

The Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival is a free concert That Is Celebrating the ITS 10th anniversary this weekend in Golden Gate Park. Patty Griffin, Joan Baez, Kinky Friedman, Emmylou Harris, Fountains of Wayne, Boz Scaggs, and many more Acts will PERFORM.

Parts of JFK Drive, Middle Drive West, and Traverse Drive in the Park will be shut down for the duration of the music festival. Parking for cars is Difficult to find, But there is a parking area for bicycles. Muni is also Life Increasing service Thurs and from the Golden Gate Park this weekend.
