Thousands of supporters and opponents of a Bill That Would Eliminate collective bargaining for Public Employees in Ohio descended on the State House on Thursday. They rallied as a Testimony Senate Bill 5 was heard during Easy a Third Committee hearing.
Teachers, Firefighters, Police Officers, and Other Public Employees marched to the State House while Members of the Tea Party and supporters of the bill AlaSCORE ™ on the West Lawn of the State House. Opponents far outnumbered supporters.
"This Senate bill is going to target the middle class Workers, Teachers, Firefighters, all educators and all Employees Union," said Melanie Shaffer, a Columbus teacher. "It's a Targeted Attack."
She called the the bill an "Atrocity" and said it Would do little Thurs help fix the state's budget woes.
