LAWRENCE, Kan.. - Kansas junior guard Tyshawn Taylor has Been Suspended indefinitely from the team for violating team Rules, coach Bill Self Announced Monday.
The School Did Not Specify the violation.
Taylor has started All but one game for the 25-2 Jayhawks, Who Are ranked second in the latest ESPN / USA Today coaches' poll (No. 3 AP). They play host Thurs Oklahoma State on Monday night (ESPN, 9 ET).
"Although we are disappointed in Tyshawn, they will Remain a member of our team and practice with our team Until they is reinstated for competition," Self said in a statement.
The loss of Taylor Comes at a critical juncture for the Jayhawks (10-2 Big 12), Who Are Chasing Texas (11-1 Big 12, 23-4) for the conference title. There are four Remaining games in the regular season.
Taylor has struggled Replacing Sherron Collins at point guard, averaging 8.8 Points Per game for Kansas and the third to rank in the Big 12 in assists in Fri. game (4.7). Freshman and sophomore Josh Selby Elijah Johnson are on the other point guards Who Are available.
EARLIER this season, senior forward Mario Little was Suspended for Six Games in connection with his arrest in a Domestic Disturbance. They was reinstated after receiving is a Diversion Agreement is a two misdemeanor battery charges.
