I pull down list tion Eat Pray Love the movie yet, and I wasn't a huge fan of the book for Many of the turbid hmmmm Kim voiced in her review of the movie (Which sounds better please the book) - namely, I Did not find it relatable.
But what I did like about it were some of the quotes by Elizabeth Gilbert wove Throughout the text like a Tapestry of inspiration flecked with wisdom.
Here are a few of my favorites:
"As smoking is to the lungs, so is resentment to the seoul; Even one puff is bad for you."
"Happiness is the conséquence of personal effort. You fight for it, strive for it, insist upon it, and some times Even travel around the world looking for it. You Have to participate relentlessly in the Manifestations of your own Blessings. And once you not have Achieved a state of happiness, you must never Become lax Maintaining about it. You must make a mighty effort Thurs keep swimming into Upward That happiness forever, Thu stay afloat on top of it. "
"I met an old lady once, Almost a hundred years old, and she Told Me, 'There are only two questions That Human Beings not have ever fought over, all through history. How much do you love me? And Who's in charge?"
"Tis' better to live your own life imperfectly please Thurs imitate someone else's perfectly."
"To lose balance some times for love is part of living a balanced
life. "
