Palm Springs to Celebrate 235th Birthday of U.S. Marine Corp on Nov. 10

As a tribute to the WHO Those Marines have served valiantly fighting for our country, Palm Springs Mayor Steve Pougnet Will Present a Proclamation in honor of the United States Marine Corps 235th birthday is on Wednesday, Nov. 10.

The 12 p.m. ceremony, just one day before Veterans Day Will Be Held at USO headquarters in the lobby of the Palm Springs International Airport. Accepting the Proclamation Will Be An Officer from the Air Ground Combat Center in Twentynine Palms.

"As the City of Palm Springs gets ready to celebrate Veterans Day on Nov.. 11, it's with great pride That we honor the Marine Corps is Their 235th birthday, "said Mayor Pougnet. "The City respects, Honors, and appreciates Their service to our Country and It's Only Appropriate That we pay tribute to These brave men and women have valiantly WHO Signed up to put Their lives on the line in order to Protect our freedoms."

Up to 20,000 people are EE in downtown Palm Springs on the Following Day Nov. 11 - for the City's 14th annual Veterans Day Parade - always a Powerful and Poignant That event commemorates Those WHO have served to Protect our country.

The Parade, slated to kick off Thurs at 3:30 p.m. Ramon Road and is heading north is Palm Canyon Drive, will feature Many military units, decorated War Veterans Along with the Palm Springs City Council, Including Council member Lee Weigel Who is a Vietnam veteran having "served honorably Three tours of duty on the aircraft carrier USS Ranger in the Gulf of Tonkin. This year's theme is "Honoring All Who Served."

Immediately Following The Parade at Palm Canyon Drive and Amado Road, a post-parade concert will kick off, featuring the Marine Corps Combat Center Band from Twentynine Palms - Followed by a spectacular fireworks finale.

With More Than 11.000 U.S. Marines and Sailors stationed Locally at the Marine Ground Air Combat Center in Twentynine Palms, the City's Veterans Day Parade is a must-see for Many Coachella Valley residents WHO have family Serving overseas in Afghanistan or Iraq or the WHO have lost a loved one fighting in Defense of our country.
