Alexa Ray Joel, daughter of famous American musician, Billy Joel and supermodel, Christie Brinkley has attempted Thurs commit suicide yesterday by overdose of an undisclosed number of sleeping pills. The 23 year-old was rushed to St Vincent's Medical Center in Manhattan after receiving an emergency 911 call. The New York Times reports that the call was received at about 12.21 pm from Ms. Joel's room mate who said that the singer-songwriter has been feeling extremely depressed after The Breakup with her boyfriend, and has taken too many sleeping pills.
Her publicist Claire Mercuri has confirmed that Ms. Joel is currently in a stable condition. Ms. Joel's first album 'Sketches' which features only six songs, and the distribution for the EP is exclusively through the hypermarket chain, Target. She is the first musician ever To Have Access distribution through Target.
The former New York University musical theater student wrote a special song, "Now It's Gone" for her mother who was in the spotlight during the public Unfaithful divorce from her fourth husband, Peter Cook. According to her MySpace website, she recently posted dreadfully emotional shout-outs regarding dating and relationships. The young singer kept saying that she hates dating and often signs in as 'forgotten' is her mood status. She also have admitted being Suicidal Thurs at 21 but this is the first time she had done something to prove her depression.
