Zhu Zhu Pets Toxic Health Risk?

A Consumer watchdog group called Good Guide believes that the popular Zhu Zhu pets toys that kids have been going crazy for this 2009 holiday season, may pose a health risk. The group based out of California reportedly "found a chemical called antimony, Which is a metal with potential health hazards." The federal limit for this chemical in the products is 60 parts per million, but the Zhu Zhu's have 93 parts per million.

"This product contains tin, Which is potentially harmful to the immune and nervous systems.

This product contains antimony, Which May be Linked to cancer, lung, and heart problems. "

The hazard for children may come from touching the toy and then their mouth, or putting the toy in their mouth itself. It's been recommended that anyone who questions the safety of these toys for their kids either call the Cepia LLC company who manufacturers them, or return the product.
