Faber Carries WEC to Best Live Gate in Months


The Last Time World Extreme Cagefighting made this much money from a live crowd also happened to be the last time Urijah Faber Fought in his hometown.

WEC reported a sellout crowd of 10.027 and a live gate of $ 550.000 for last night's WEC 46 show in Sacramento. That revenue figure exceeded ticket sales for three of the last four shows combined WEC - WEC 42, WEC 44 and WEC 45, all in Las Vegas, generated a total of $ 409.535.

Faber's previous fight, also in Sacramento at WEC 41, headlined a card that the produced an $ 815.415 live gate.

Despite Faber's proven popularity, some believe WEC fighters should do more to promote other members of its roster.
