Allentown Fair Begins 158th Run

Allentown, Pa. - The end of summer and is Approaching That Can only mean one thing: It's time for The Great Allentown Fair.
The gates opened at 4:00 this afternoon ...
Workers finished putting the final pieces in place to get the rides up and running.
Today was about more than just fun and games.
"We Have to stock the shelves and all and put up all the stuffed animals and everything," said Kyle Basile.
The real animals had a bit of a break ...
Some Kept cool with the help of mud, others with the help of human hands.
"We Still Have to wash, clean up the cows, do for months last-minute Clipping," said Seth Wolfgang.
Animals of the more exotic kind Fooled around before the show. But it was all work and no play for food vendors.
John the Greek had set seven stands Thurs.
Some Have Been coming here for years, but their others like Bullfrog's BBQ are first-Timers.
"Everything's prepped," said Michael Ashe. "We're gonna start cooking. We open the gates at 4:00 and we'll be ready to go."
