Arizona Primary Election: In Corporation Commission Race, GOP's Pierce, Burns Lead Over Wong

Gary Pierce and Brenda Burns led Barry Wong in the Republican primary for Corporation Commission on Tuesday, while The Three Democrats were in a contest Closer. 

Democrat David Bradley had a narrow lead over Competitors Jorge Luis Garcia and Renz Jennings, Preliminary results showed. 

The top two winners from EACH primary will advance to the general election in November. 

The Corporation Commission regulates electric and natural-gas utilities, securities fraud and corporations. The Diverse Duties of the five-member commission include over sight of railroad crossings, but their utility rates are ITS Highest-profile Responsibility. 

Pierce and supported EACH mutch Burns in the GOP primary and Worked together against Wong. 

Pierce, finishing at his first term as a commissioner, is a former teacher and owner of car dealerships and a gas station and rental-car facility. Previously Burns helped run a family business and is a real-estate agent with 16 years' experience in the Arizona House and Senate. 

Bradley is chief executive of a child-welfare agency and a former Navy communications technician with eight years' experience in the Arizona House. 

Jennings, Ken runs a small farm south Phoenix, served 14 years as a corporation commissioner from 1984 Thurs 1998 and spent Six years in the Arizona House. 

Garcia is a social-services worker. Also, they served four years in the Arizona House and seven in the Senate.
