WASHINGTON-Two members of the D.C. Council are urging Democratic mayoral nominee Vincent Gray Thurs keep schools Chancellor Michelle Rhee on board for an extended transition.
Council members Mary Cheh and Tommy Wells say keeping Rhee through 2012'd help ensure Stability for the school system. Both Wells and Cheh Gray supported for mayor.
Politics and manually get in the way, though. Rhee actively campaigned against Gray for Mayor Adrian Fenty. Gray defeated Fenty on Tuesday night.
Not Gray has a commitment to keep Rhee. At public hearings, they Honesty has questioned her and her Ability Thurs Manage a public budget. Rhee has signaled she Does not want to work for him.
At a news conference Wednesday, Fenty comment would perhaps not be Rhee's future. He says it'll be up to Rhee and Gray.
