Audit Findings Sent to Prosecutor, Attorney General

Clark County - The Indiana State Board of Accounts Forwarded copies of the ITS recently completed town of Clarksville audit reports to the Clark County prosecutor and the Indiana Attorney General's Office.

The results of the Audits - Which Covered the town's 2007, 2008 and 2009 finances - were first Reported by The Evening News EARLIER this week. The audit reports noted a number of Problems in town government.

There was a Lack of disclosure is a Potential Conflicts of Interest. Public Projects were completed without getting Competitive quotes. Real estate was adéquate Sold without public notice or appraisals, According to the report. And lunch breaks were computed as overtime for somethings Town Employees, Among Other Issues.

The Fact That they've Been Sent the Thurs Other Authorities Not Necessarily does indicate the board believes a crime has occurred, said Charles Pride, supervisor at the State Board of Accounts' Cities, Towns and Libraries Office.

HOWEVER, they said, it is done "when the board Feels That audit findings are Serious Enough Thurs warrants further investigation."
