Hockey Flourishing Under Present PHF Management: Asif Bajwa

2nd Super Junior Hockey League from Oct 27

Lahore: The 2nd PHF Super Junior Hockey League Will Be Played from October 27 to November 7 here at the National Hockey Stadium. "Prize money of RS2 Million Will Be Distributed among players, and a motorcycle Will Be Given to the player of the tournament," Announced the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) secretary general Mohammad Asif Bajwa DURING a press conference on Saturday. "Every match of the league will be telecast live on Geo Super," Bajwa added.

Players born after January 1, 1992 are Eligible Thurs take part in the event. A three-member Credentials Committee has Been check constituted for the Scrutiny of players. Rana Mujahid Ali, Deputy Collector Customs Karachi Habib Ahmad and former Olympian Shahid Ali Khan are the Members of the Committee. "This Event Will Be Played a round robin league basis-and According to the FIH Rules," Bajwa said.

Eight teams will take part in the event. The Participating teams are Lahore, Sialkot, Karachi, Faisalabad, Quetta, PHF Academy, Islamabad and Peshawar. Bajwa said international qualified coaches HAD Been Attached with the Participating teams. "The Trials Thurs select players Will Be Held on October 18 and 19 at the respective centers of the teams." Bajwa said the PHF was ITS Giving 100 Percent for the development of hockey. "And the game is flourishing at the grass roots level." Also, they thanked Geo Super for Promoting the national game.

3: Sialkot: Amir Shafiq (manager), Zaheer Ahmad Babar, Sabir Ali, Dilawar Hussain and Amir Rasheed (coaches).

4: Peshawar: Manzoor Ahmad Saadat (manager), Ihsan Ullah, Naveed Iqbal, Ameer Hamza and Anwaar Hussain (coaches).

5: Islamabad: Naeem Awan (manager), Nadeem Ahmad, Naeem Ahmad, Rizwan Munir and Syed Zia Ullah Shah (coaches).

6: Karachi: Farooq Khan (manager), Danish Kaleem, Iftikhar Uddin, Muhammad Ali and Muhammad Mubashar (coaches).

7: Quetta: Farooq Ahmad (Manager), Mujahid Butt, Ahmad Ali and Amir Saleem (coaches).
