On "The Oprah Winfrey Show" on Friday (Oct. 22), Oprah welcomed a pair of unusual guests. Pamela Smart (left) was interviewed by Lisa Ling from prison, while the guest Becky (middle) joined Oprah in the studio. Becky is the daughter of a woman named Diane Downs (right), the WHO notoriously shot three of her children from point-blank range in 1983.
In 1989, Pamela became Wojas Pamela Smart (pictured above, left) in "when she married Gregg Smart. A year later, they was shot and killed in Their Home. It Came Out That teenager Pamela's lover and three of his friends were Responsible for the killing, But They claimed Pamela Them All put up to it. She was branded the Black Widow by the national media.
Pamela: "It was a complete circus. The media was everywhere. Nobody was swarming me Because They Wanted To Catch a photo of someone They adore. They were swarming Because They thought I was a cold-blooded killer."
Lisa: "You were painted as this vixen WHO Seduced this teenage boy and was complicit in the murder of your husband." Once Those are in the headlines, how does anyone perceive you as anything But that? "
Pamela: "They do not."
Smart maintains her innocence and Further That thinks her sentence of life in prison is too harsh, considering she wasn't evangelical found guilty of the actual crime of murder. But Gregg's brother Dean cents a statement Thurs Oprah Regarding the Fact That the boys got a light please Sentences Pamela did:
As far as Pam Maintaining her innocence, the state of New Hampshire believes she's guilty, as well as my family and most of the public. There was overwhelming Evidence proving her guilt. There was the Testimony of the Three Boys, as well as the wiretap recordings. As far as the Sentencing her, the boys got a lighter sentence Because They made a deal. They pled guilty. Could she have done the Same thing. If she admitted her guilt had occurred, she May have Received a lighter sentence also Life.
