Rangers payroll doesn't stack up to other World Series teams

Who says money CAN buy championships? The New York Yankees 2010 Payroll ($ 206 million) is Nearly Four Times That Of The Texas Rangers ($ 55 million).

But it's the Rangers Who Are advancing to the World Series. Not the Yankees.

Here's a look at the Yankees top-paid players - Alex Rodriguez ($ 33 million), CC Sabathia ($ 24.3 million), Derek Jeter ($ 22.6 million), Mark Teixeira ($ 20.6 million) and AJ Burnett ($ 16.5).

The Rangers - Michael Young ($ 13 million). Rich Harden ($ 6.5 million), Vladimir Guerrero ($ 5.5 million) and Ian Kinsler ($ 4.2 million).

The Rangers team payroll is the fourth-Lowest in the Majors. It's the second Lowest Team Payroll Thurs REACH the World Series since USA TODAY started tracking MLB salaries in 1988.

The Tampa Bay Rays had occurred, The Second Smallest Payroll ($ 43 million) When They lost to the Philadelphia Phillies ($ 98 million) in 2008.
