Flower Show coming next week

Unlike the magical season That is the theme of the 2011 Philadelphia International Flower Show, this Springtime in Paris is not a product of Mother Nature.


Rather, it is the result of hard work by local exhibitors like landscapers Michael Petrie, Joe Vetro and Jack Blandy, among Hundreds of others from the Delaware Valley.


This year the Philadelphia Horticultural Society, Petrie asked to Create a showcase exhibit with the theme, the Artist's Paris.


"It is eight hours a day in January, February and half of March with two " Employees, "said Petrie, WHO owns Handmade Gardens, a landscape business on Route 113 in East Caln. "You go to the show, you have five Days To set up, the show lasts a week, then two Days To tear down."


The Flower Show, Which Benefits Pennsylvania Horticultural Society, is presented by PNC.


It opens to the public on Sunday and Continues through March 13 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center and is EE Thurs generate a $ 61 Million Economic Impact. It produces the equivalent of 637 full-time jobs, $ 8 Million in city, state and federal tax revenue, and Fills 25.000 hotel room nights.
