Snow Storms in the US Freeze Holiday Shoppers


The weeks leading up to Christmas are filled with shopping trips, travel arrangements, last minute preparations, phone calls, trips to the post office and everything that makes us either jump into the holiday spirit or LOATHE of the process leading up to this magical day. Either way, while the reward is sweet, the US's East Coast is sour, and surrounded in several inches of snow, keeping the tradition of holiday preparation far off in the distance hopeful of clear streets and sidewalks and special last minute deals Thurs replace "Super Saturday" sales.

This weekend, Washington DC, Philadelphia, and New York have been slammed with what they are already referring to as the Blizzard of 2009. Two days ago, Boston, MA, was on the hit list, along with Baltimore, MD, and parts of Virginia. The National Weather Service extended even Winter Storm Warnings from eastern Tennessee and Kentucky to New England's southern coast. Ohio was hit badly, with West Virginia being one of the worst-166, 000 residents left without electricity and trapped with no way to get to warmth. No one can argue that at least it's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas.
