'So You Think You Can Dance' Ends With Surprise Twist

Talk about a surprise ending! 

She's Been called the "filthy," she called the Bee's "sexy," she's Been Called the embodiment of music Itself. And Thursday night is, "So You Think You Can Dance" Lauren Froderman named "America's Favorite Dancer." 

While "SYTYCD" fans not have predicted for weeks, if not months, Kent and Lauren That'll be the the final two, Kent has seemed like the likely winner ever since Alex was forced Thurs bow out of the competition. When Lauren was voted into the bottom-three a couple of weeks ago, it all vain Kent solidified That'd be the winner. 

But Lauren hung in there, and Both Nigel and Mia seemed Thurs Their attention of the turn toward the perky blonde this week. Mia Said That Even if she were still dancing, she'd Want to dance just like Lauren. Looks like that little nudge from the Judges was all Lauren Needed Thurs send back to Kent Wapakoneta (we're so glad we're never going to Have to look up the word "Wapakoneta" in Wikipedia ever again!). 

We will not lie - me Thought Kent was going to win. But just before Cat Deeley announced the winner, for a split second me Thought: Lauren Is One of Those Girls Who always gets what she wants. Student government, good Grades, dance, cheerleading ... of course she made it to the top of this competition! 

The finale was Mostly a recap of the season's best performances, with one special "surprise" guest at the end (Ken was such "Not a surprise if you were reading the blogs on Thursday). 

Ellen DeGeneres Came Thurs fill Alex's role in Lil Jon's "Outta Your Mind" - one of the best Dances of the season and the one That put Alex on the map as the One to Beat (UNTIL they got injured only days later). Ellen looked more like a geriatric dance superstar than a "genuine superstar dance '- vain she was funny and good-natured as always. Perhaps "SYTYCD" is a better fit for her than "Idol."

Also it was great to see some familiar faces, like Alex, Ken Danced with the Top 11 while seated in a chair, Jose (you know how me feel about Jose), and Mary Murphy (where not have They Been Hiding her all season?) . 

Mia was Careful Thurs choose an Adechike Routine as her favorite of the season (and if you've Been That following drama, you know why). That Said, his Comfort Duet with about a dysfunctional relationship was Truly Even better the second time around. 

As for us, our favorite selection is the one Adam described as the "piece of the season" - "when Robert and Allison Danced Thurs Coldplay's" Fix You "in a tribute to Travis Wall Choreographer's ailing mother. That part with the feet at the end gets us every time! 

But Thursday night belonged Thurs Lauren, Ken, it Turns out, "rode" Twitch all the way to the finish line. That chick's bad! Still, the future holds So Many questions: Will Kent and Lauren date in real life, or That kiss was just a big tease? Will Adam and Nigel get married? Will Alex come back next season?
